Notebooks and Pens for Management professionals!
As a professional it’s extremely important to always have the option to take notes – You never know when you need to note down actions, deliverables or important reminders. The first part of taking notes, is what you take notes on – I have seen many junior managers using just a normal notepad and while it might work for them, it doesn’t always look very professional. The second part of note taking is the pen, where I have also included a few recommendations below.
Notebooks for professionals
The Moleskine notepads are a good quality brand of notepads that are well regarded in most places for most job roles from Junior level to executive level.
I have personally tried all the one’s I can get my hands on, now using them for different purposes depending on format and size. My recommendation is for you to try different types to see which one’s fit you best.
Different people have different ways or reordering, personally I stock up for a year at the time, where others place automatic re-orders based on what time frame they go through their notebook.
Below I have listed the standard type of Moleskine in the different formats – you can sometimes find slightly modified models, but I generally recommend ordering them through Amazon as that’s the cheapest way I have found.

The Plain Moleskine Notebook is often used by designers, artists or people that for whatever reason needs free drawing space for sketches and the likes. It’s also useful for brainstorming, mind mapping and for other creative uses. |

The ruled Moleskine Notebook is the most frequent used Moleskine notebook in the management environment. Some people prefer A5 and some A4, my suggestion is that you order one of each and figure out what suits you best going forward. Personally I have ended up with the A4 version, as I find it handy I can put A4 sheets in-between the pages when I get them in meetings etc. |

The Squared Moleskine Notebook is often used by Web developers, coders and different types of consultants or auditors. I have a Squared Moleskine myself, that I use for mind-mapping, as I find it really useful for this. |
Pens for professionals
When it comes to professional Pen’s, it’s generally recommended that you find a good metal pen. There’s many different options and preferences and like the notepad I recommend that you try a number of pens to find one that you feel is very comfortable and practical.
